1) Were you satisfied in having Mirror as your ability? I'm not entirely satisfied about having Mirror initially, since I had the assumption that Mirror serves mainly as support and its mainly use as a piece of move people around and hence that would reduce my chance of winning. Also, since its a role that needs to actively 'attack' people and it may bring me some enemies along the way. Also, there isnt that many 'moving' cards available and some requires you to work with the people ie; Union or Push (if you want it in specific direction), and it doesnt help that Gravity and Mirror is such a good combo that people is constantly silencing gravity, leaving me without anything to work with. It is clearly evident form the fact that in the first 4 turns, my ability is totally unused, I thought I would end the game being a vanilla.
Obviously, looking at the outcome of the game and the impact I have at the end, I'm satisfied with it, just wished I could do more with it OR if I have a more proactive role such as Push/Union it may be more fun but then I wouldnt know whether I would have the chance to win it or not.2) What do you think about the duration of the Main Match? AHHH... Lukas was right! One MM a month . It was indeed slow, but it was expected from the nature of this game, so I cant blame anyone for it. And I believe we dont have a common timezone for everyone, hence leading to the problem above. As I said with Arnold, it doesnt help that two of the more inactive ones (Plat and Joshua) gets the one with the most moves involving them. It does slow down the momentum a lot. Like I could come online one day and realise that next turn was my move, so I start to give it much thought, then it involves push, then a union, and then some other ability, then i realised my turn actually came 1.5 day later . I find it a shame that Plat didnt respond in time most of the time, would things be alot differnt if he chose to bring people back? I certainly hope so. I know at the end I was hoping plat dont bring Joshua/myself back to the 9th spot. Joshua being it would lead to the game being 2 days longer, and potentally bringing Joshua out of the winning range if he pushed wrongly (or randomly)
Overall, its an awesome game, I'm glad I played it, although its a tad too long, but I enjoyed it, and its kinda worth it.
3) What was your strategy playing the game? Well. I had two parts to it, make everyone my ally so I dont get picked if I didnt win, and actually not win it so that the target its smaller on me. Idk if this is true but for my perspective, it feels that I'm in a good overseeing position. I have my little group I'm working with (Joshua and Rexxy), and Arnold is feeding me information aboout Joseph and Plat, and I'm also kinda working with Kevin (winners alliance) and Trevor (I kinda convinced/forced him to work with me by picking him to draft characters after me). I tried to let everyone feed me information so that I have most of the things to work with
So since there are two sides, I'll just attack Arnold's side . Mainly it involves Gravity-Mirror combo, to attack someone, which I wanted to separate plat and joseph (since they have the potential to reset the board when moving back, putting them in safe spots) [this failed]. Also, I'll have Rexxy do this thing called 'Push-hugging', basically sticking close to push to trigger delete every single time, and Joshua do Push to do more of it.
Thats all I have , I didnt really give it much thought till the end and when I started crunching numbers till the end, esp since I have nothing to trigger my ability, since I'm always trying to always be in front
It was only at the end, when I tried to move 2 spaces to Joseph (and told him some gibberish that I was thinking of saving Kevin for a turn if I got pushed in front), that may be the reason why he pushed me back , which was according to my plan so that Joshua can push me back (which he didnt, but random.org did it), allowing me to kill off both Joshua and Kevin securing my 4th place finish.
Oh yea, as for my deal with Joseph, he didnt really fufill it , I deem that he broke it the moment the pushed Kevin back., giving myself a great hell, if he pushed kevin forward, and killed off himself, kevin and rexxy, I'd get the win 1 turn earlier and have less to worry about.
Out of promise, I kept him safe this round, but I was semi hoping Plat picks him after I told him I had a deal with Joseph to keep him safe, but hes kinda in my hitlist now.4) Who are the people you are closely working with now? With everyone plotting with everyone, Im not even sure if the people I thought I'm closely working with are really the ones I'm closely working with. This is definitely that question I'll look back at everyone's confession at the end of the game to see who is truly working with me and who is secretly against me, but heres my list
Tier 4 - Arnold - He has been truthful to me the entire game, having meaningful conversation with me, playing games outside of this game, etc, we may be seemingly against each other all the way, but we are secretly working with one another, priority id to keep one another out of the DM!
Tier 3 - Rexxy - Solid game partner all the way, really active and providing information and perspective all the way. Really couldnt have done a lot without him.
Tier 2.9 - Joshua - Solid game partner too, and people dont know we're working together so he can gather some other information for us, but generally too inactive and doesnt provide much for us to work with imo.
Tier 2 - Kevin - We made a pact to protect one another and I shall comitt to it, he does provide some intel to me and he also showed interest in working with me, even lying to others about plotting against me, so I guess we can get more info about everyone (I hope it works out and I could trust him). He is a really good meatshield for me as well. And please dont lose in the DM!!!
Tier 1.5 - Trevor - Trusted ally, he does what I said generally and I'm keen to work with him, but due to victim of circumstance he is pretty low right now, obviously, I'll protect him if possible but he'd be the first I'll let go because we just dont talk as much
Tier 1 - Plat - Reached out to him a couple of times, and I showed some interest in working with him. But would he work with me? I doubt so , unless he lost his allies, but I really hope to work with him, but he is the only one I talked to the least. But i still kinda butter him up and hope that we could be in working terms if he survive the DM.
Tier 0.9 - Joseph - Put him a little lower than Plat, just 'cos he kinda try to cross me a little last time, idk whether he's keen in working with me or not, but it's better to have a target in mind for future matches yea? If plats gone I have no one to target
Anways Arnold and Rexxy is top priority, and Josh and Kevin are kinda there too. I appreciate the rest, but I could only help that many people.
I bet it comes a point in time where my alliance lines are exposed and it would put us in alot of trouble.
I still feel bad that I didnt tell arnold about my alliance with rexxy and joshua, josh is like our little right hand man that no one knew about . 5) With you leading the garnets count and winning 6 Main Matches in a row, do you feel a target on you? mas, quick question what did you ask the others for Q5. Isit about them and their position/ or isit about what they think about me and my position? 6MM wins its definitely impressive. and I'm pretty excited getting this, because this puts me in like some legend position hahahhaa (I currently overshot Nat (S1 winner) and tomcat (S2 winner) in number of MM wins, if you count their final match then I'm tied ), I'm pretty stoked but I'll be lying if I think I have no target. I'm pretty sure that unless my close ally goes to the DM, I'll be picked so long as I didnt win the MM. There definitely is a target on me, but i hope people dont make a concerted effort to plot against me, that would be really really bad for me .
Having a high garnet count makes you a good pick for the DM too, I'm hoping that I could lose these garnets soon so that I wont appear as a golden target for everyone.
And also I believe being a good MM player doesnt mean youre a good DM player (ie; sangmin), I have a feeling that I'll be terrible at it from the looks of it.
Right now, i depend on my allies heavily that they'll support me and not plot for my demise. Thats how I came so far to get my wins, long-lasting truthful relationship, and I hope that it carries me further as well. So I dont think I should panic, but just be alert.
6) What do you think of Black and White coming up again in the Death Match? Ahhh black and white again. I loved it, although its something I cant follow as a spectator, but its something easily learnable for everyone so it shouldnt be so bad for everyone, like the last DM , I shudder at the thought of it. This is a good and even game that everyone knows and I hope Plat and Kevin have a great game and may the best person wins.
7) Who do you prefer to be eliminated? Personally, I prefer Plat to be eliminated, I had a close working relationship with Kevin so I dont really want him to lose it. And we tried to make a deal with one another yea, so assuming that he is true to his word, I want to work with him moving forward to have another strong ally by my side. At least I'm not the only one with the massive number of wins hahha.
8) Going into the Top 7, what are your thoughts? Wow. just wow! We're at the halfway mark, coming into this game, I never thought I'll have so much fun doing this, and racking up the wins feels enjoyable, although I'm not sure whether it is a good thing or not . But I enjoyed every moment and the interactions with everyone in the game. I didnt know I'll come so far too! Right now, the playing field is tougher, the competition is crazier, and the games may be harder, relationships may be further blurred, and it'll reach the point where it's not teams playing against one another, but rather individuals having their own 'trustclusters' hoping to squeeze the win out for them, and killing off some people in the process. IT will be more cutthroat, but I guess it may be more fun, We've played for close to 2 months already and I'm having a bond with everyone. It would be tough to try to make someone lose a game right now. I'd feel bad . Thanks for everything Mas. And Selamat Hari Raya!! Hope you had loads of fun during the festive period.
Isnt it weird that after so long, I dont even have a chat room with Joshua .In case you missed it, I've asked a question in purple above
