We will begin the 9th round of "The Genius" game.
Joshua was eliminated in the 8th round and now there are 5 players left.
Before we start the game, I will reveal the garnet counts.
Here are the updated garnets.
17 garnets - Trevor 13 garnets - Ethy 12 garnets - Rexxy 7 garnets - Kevin 6 garnets - Arnold
There are altogether 55 garnets in the game now.
In the original game, we equate a garnet to around $1,000. And the winner at the end of the season wins the total number of garnets in the game.
So if this is the real game, you all cumulatively hold a total of $55,000.

Today's Main Match is a Garnet Match. The player with the most garnets at the end of the garnet match will be the winner. The player with the least garnets will be the Death Match candidate. I will now introduce the 9th Main Match. The 9th Main Match is "Tortoise and Hare Race". In "Tortoise and Hare Race", you will bet on 2 animals to place in the Top 3 and you win garnets based on their final placing. There are 5 animals in this race: "Tortoise", "Hare", "Lamb", "Wolf"" and "Fox". Each player will be given one of these animals as their 1st animal to bet on in secret. They will be informed through their confessional. There are also 81 Race cards also in the game: (18 Hare, 17 Tortoise, 16 Wolf, 15 Fox, 15 Lamb). The Race cards will be shuffled and 7 of the cards will be given to each player at the start. Each player will choose one of these animals to use as their 2nd animal to bet on. That card cannot be used for racing once chosen. Players can choose the same animal as the animal that they were given at the start if they wish to. The other 6 cards will be used as normal Race cards. There are 11 track tiles, with 2 tiles having streams on it. The track tiles will be shuffled and laid out at the start of the race. The players will be randomly ordered to see who moves first. The players will take turns posting Race cards on this thread. When there are a total of 8 cards on the thread, this triggers the racing phase, and you will move the animals along the track. During each player's turn, you will play 1 to 4 Race cards. These cards must be of the same animal. You will then be given new cards and it will be posted on your Confessional page. The next player can take their next turn even if the previous player has not gotten their cards unless the next player are not told of their new cards yet. If, at the end of that player's turn, one of these two conditions has been met: • The players have placed precisely 8 cards (no more, no fewer), • The players have placed precisely 4 cards in total of the same animal (no more, no fewer), the racing portion of the game will start. Take note, you are never allowed to exceed the total of 8 cards, or the total of 4 cards of the same animal. When it is your turn, you cannot place a 9th card, or a 5th Tortoise card, for example. During this phase, the Animal pawns will advance (or not), depending on the cards the players placed during their turns. They will move according to each animal’s mode of travel, and always in the following order: 1) Hare If 1 to 4 Hare cards were played, the hare advances 2 Track tiles. ... unless 4 Hare cards were played when the hare is already in first place (even just tied for first). In this case, he does not advance, because he takes a nap instead. However, ignore this rule if he’s still on the starting line. 2) Tortoise If 0 to 3 Tortoise cards were played, the tortoise advances 1 Track tile. If 4 Tortoise cards were played, the tortoise advances 2 Track tiles. 3) Wolf If 1 to 2 Wolf cards were played, the wolf advances 1 Track tile. If 3 to 4 Wolf cards were played, the wolf advances as many Track tiles as the number of Wolf cards played minus 1. 4) Fox The fox advances as many Track tiles as the number of Fox cards played 5) Lamb The lamb advances as many Track tiles as the number of Lamb cards played plus 1. However, the lamb can’t resist drinking fresh water, and must stop moving as soon as it reaches a Track tile depicting a stream. Once the racing phase ends, the cards in play are discarded and a new turn starts from the next player. As soon as an animal crosses the finish line, the animal will claim the highest podium place still in play. The game is over as soon as 3 animals are present on the podium. I will then reveal each player's animal bets.. Depending on their place on the podium, the animals give garnets as follows to the players who bet on them. 1st- 7 garnets, 2nd - 4 garnets. 3rd – 2 garnets. If both your animals are different and are in the top 3, you get additional 2 garnets. If both your animals are the same and in the top 3, you get additional 3 garnets. You can still play a Race card of an animal that has already been on the podium.
If you have any questions, feel free to post.
The order of the players and the track tiles will be posted shortly

END 11th 10th (S) 9th 8th 7th 6th 5th 4th (S) 3rd 2nd 1st START
The 4th and 10th Track Tiles have a stream on it so the lamb will stop at that track even if they still have moves to make.
Using Random.org, here is the order of the players:
1) Ethy, 2) Trevor, 3) Kevin, 4)Arnold, 5) Rexxy
The Main Match will start at 9 PM EST. The starting cards will be posted on the confessionals shortly

All players should have received their 1st bet animal card along with their 7 Race Cards. Remember to select one of the animals of your race card as your 2nd bet animal. Any players that doesn't do it by 9 PM EST will be randomly chosen from their deck. Once 9 PM EST reach, Ethy will start the Main Match and choose to play an animal Race card and also state how many cards he is playing. There will be a 10-hour deadline per turn, as usual. If not, ONE random card will be picked out from the player's deck and be played

no. your animal pick is to be done in confessional. no one else will know unless you tell them.
when the game starts, out of the remaining 6 cards, you are to play cards of the same animal, from 1 to 4 cards.
and thanks for spotting, have edited it

You say we can bet on the same animal twice. Does that get us double the garnets we would get otherwise if they win?

Yes correct. If u say bet on fox twice and it gets first, you will get 14 garnets + 3 garnets cos u bet the same animal and it lands on the top 3

Just to clarify, if there is only one winner, there is an extra token of life in play

Just to clarify also, your 1st animal bet card is not part of the Race cards. So it means the 81 cards doesn't include the 5 cards. And reminder there can never be more than 8 cards played in a round. So if say there are 7 cards and it's your turn, you can only play 1 card.
Same thing that there cannot be more than 4 cards of the same animal. If there are 3 hare cards, you can only place 1 more hare card.
Either will trigger the racing phase.
Do copy and paste the cards that have been played for that round and add on to the number of the respective animals.
