First off, welcome to the 3nd season of The Genius ORG Online. This game started in Season 1 with players coming from the now-defunct IMDb: Other Games board. Last season, I opened it up from players of Reddit though.
Here are just some rules about how the game is done.
1) Each round is broken up into 2 parts: Main Match & Death Match.
2) For the Main Match, everyone will be participating while only 2 players will be involved in the Death Match, although certain challenges might require the rest of the players to be involved.
3) Each Main Match will take at least 24 hours and can last up to 5 days depending on the nature of the challenge. You are not required to be online when it is posted but do ensure you try to check it every few hours to know what it is about. Use the deadlines, especially if there a few rounds or it's turn-based, to plan your strategy within the deadline.
4) Each Death Match, as much, will be played live at a time decided by the 2 Death Match players. I try to schedule it within 3 days from the posting of results from the Main Match. Depending on the nature of the Death Match, it might be possible to do it non-live. But as much as possible, we will try not to do that.
5) PMs are disabled on this board. If you want to communicate with anyone, request a room by posting on your confessional page. You are allowed to have as many people in the room that you want, as well as have many rooms. This is done to simulate like how the real show is done when players get into rooms to talk to each other. It is also easier for me to track the thought processes of everyone.
6) For the Main Matches, the bare rules are told to all the players. Feel free to ask me anything, whether in public or private, if you want to clarify certain thought processes. The rules are there to guide you, and not stifle you. If you don't ask me, you might not know that there are certain loopholes that I will let you go by, if you know how to find it.
7) Garnets are a means of currency in this game. In the actual show, these garnets are actually exchanged for real money for the winner. This is similar to The Mole where the winner gets the whole pot. Garnets however also might provide some advantage in certain challenges. So it might still be a good idea to get some garnets, unless your strategy is not to.
8) Try to keep communication within the board and not outside it. And please try to be as civil as possible to each other. It's just a game and let's try to make it as fun for everyone as possible.
9) Lastly, thanks a lot for everyone who has signed up. I hope you will enjoy this game and I will warn you that based on the previous 2 seasons, the game will take a few months to wrap up. So I really appreciate especially if we have turn-based games, if you all are willing to expedite it by checking the forum as much as you can. Good luck to all!
