Need to play aggressively. I think most players would think you'd play cautious in these games. My suggestion is to start with mid-high numbers, like 4/5/6 1st time.
IF you win the 1st round, try again with mid-high number for 2nd round. Don't think the opponent will right away use their 7, 8 1st two rounds.
If you win the first two rounds, then you play a very low number like 0 or 1. I think Joshua would try for a high number if you are winning the first two rounds.
Just try to save 7 or 8 for mid/end rounds.
IF you lose the 1st round with 4(black), 5(white), 6(black), then you can get a better understanding of what number he use. i.e - if you use 5 (he uses white - he'd use 7. If he uses black - 6 or 8). So if he wins the first round with high numbers, try using a low number the next round.
Good luck, its really a tough DM to predict opponent numbers. This is one strategy, you don't have to follow it. it's hard to guess what he'll do, so just go with gut instincts
