Welcome all! (and I believe I haven't said anything yet to trevor, and in that case, hi Trevor /) )
So basically I found a way to keep us 5 save, and get 3 points if they want to.
Okay! So we have 3 nobles and 2 commoner. and what I found is that at least 3 people could get at least 3 points. Here's what I had in mind:
1) 2 nobles and 1 commoner trade up with other people out of the group. these are the 3 people who would want 3 points to get the garnet. (commoner should trade with that noble unofficially first, then trade with that person to get the point) Also, it is IMPORTANT that the last thing you do is to trade it officially, and you know what card you are holding.
2 people won't be trading in this step so we know for sure we have at least 1 noble and 1 commoner.
So now we have 4 commoner and 1 noble.
2) After that trade, IF ANYONE GOT THE CONVICT CARD, PLEASE INFORM THIS GROUP!!!
3) After that, we follow this sequence:
If one of us gets the convict card, then that person will be person A, and the commoner who haven't traded yet is person D. If no convict card is received, then we go through the whole sequence with the noble card, with person A as the noble card holder.
4) After the whole sequence is done, we do 1 of these 2 things:
(1) With the convict card
In the chart, the sequence will end with person A holding the convict card. Now after trading that, person A immediately go to the unofficial trading room and say "I'll trade my card with [person D]" (since we know for sure person D has commoner). Then, before person D accepts, that person should make an official trade with another noble outside our group, but say that you will return that noble card back afterwards in the unofficial trade room. But before you trade that noble card back, accept that convict card trade. Then, IMMEDIATELY, start a trade with that person since that person thinks it's the noble card, but you actually giving him the convict card. Then we all stop trading.
(2) With the noble card
Person D is safe with noble card, person B is safe with commoner card. Now person A,C,E might be in danger because, who knows, one of our group member might be lying and have the convict card at the trade up, and it may be in either person A,C, or E's hands.
To counter that, person A, C, and E have to make another ONE official trade with a person outside of our group (just to make sure your card isn't the convict card, not for points). IF you turns out to have the conflict card, give it unofficially to D, then D gives it to A, then we do the steps in (1). IF no one gets the convict, then person D officially trade it to A.
This just to ensure we don't end up with convict card while still earning a few points. And yea, it's pretty complicated
