The 2nd game in the finals is “Same Number Hunt”.
In this game, you will memorize the back of the game board and complete an equation that results in a target number.
Behind a board with 16 different letters on it, there will be numbers from 1 to 12 and the 4 arithmetic signs: +, -, x, ÷
When the game begins, you will be given 1 minute to look through the different threads to find out what number belongs to which sign or number. You will request a letter that you want to peek and a password will be given. On each board, the number is revealed as well as a password for another letter for you to open. Once the 1 minute is up, the board will be hidden.
The game will continue until one player earns 10 points and a target number will be revealed each round.
All of the target numbers are natural numbers that can be used using the numbers and signs on the board and they will be randomly drawn 1 at a time.
When a target number is revealed, you must recall the numbers and signs on the board and completes an equation that results in that number.
However, the equation must abide by some rules.
Equations must consists of two numbers and a sign.
Equations cannot have two of the same numbers.
In other words, you cannot call out the same letter twice in a turn.
When a number is called, you must post your name on the thread to get a chance to answer first.
You will then get 30 seconds to answer from the time you posted to post three letters in order to form an equation of two numbers and a sign.
If a player cannot answer in 30 seconds or is incorrect, their opponent will be given a chance to answer.
The two players will alternate taking turns to answer until the target number for that round is made.
The first player to get the target number will get 1 point.
The game will continue in this way until one player gets 10 points and wins the game.
From Round 2 onwards, one tile will be randomly revealed for 30 seconds for you all to peek.
There are 3 items in this game.
1) Peek a number: You can use this item to peek at a letter to know the sign or number behind it. You will be given 30 seconds to peek at it.
2) Double Points: You can use this item to get 2 points if you get it correct.
3) Use Three Numbers: You will get to use three numbers and two signs instead to form an equation. It will also give you 2 points if you get it correct.
The "peek a number" is given to Kevin by Arnold, the "Double Points" is given to Kevin by Joseph and the "Use Three Numbers" is given to Kevin by Plat.
